The heads of official Muslim centralized structures consider it legitimate that the Ministry of Justice intends to liquidate religious organizations that operate only on paper, Islam.ru reports . There are eight Islamic organizations on the list of the Ministry of Justice.
The head of the Council of Muftis of Russia, Ravil Gainutdin, said that "it is necessary to get rid of unnecessary centers."
The head of the Central Spiritual Administration of Muslims, Talgat Tadjuddin, also expressed his opinion on this matter in a statement: "We don't need registered centers that are simply listed but do not operate. They are of no use."
Ismail Berdiev, head of the Coordinating Center for Muslims of the North Caucasus, who was also included in the list of organizations subject to liquidation, noted that "time has shown that Islamic centers operating as one-day firms are doomed to liquidation." At the same time, he called it "a complete misunderstanding" that the Coordinating Center also ended up on the list liquidated by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation. "We simply did not submit the reporting documents on time. I am sure that this will not happen again," Berdiev said.
