Swastikas and anti-Semitic graffiti on the building of the Jewish Congress in Saratov

On October 26, 2008, in Saratov, unidentified people drew swastikas and wrote anti-Semitic inscriptions on the building housing the Sokhnut Jewish agency and the Heesed branch of the Jewish charitable service. Among these inscriptions, the number "1488" was found, which is symbolic for neo-Nazis, and symbolizes "14 words and 88 commandments of the White man."

According to the coordinator of the Saratov representative office of the Jewish Agency in Russia (EAR) Bella Zueva, "the incident may be timed to coincide with the birthday of one of the ideologists of American neo-Nazism, David Lane."
