DPNI leader charged

On November 21, 2008, the Investigative Committee under the Prosecutor's Office (SKP) of the Russian Federation brought charges under Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement of national hatred) against the leader of the movement against illegal immigration (DPNI) Alexander Potkin (Belov).

According to an official representative of the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the RF Investigative Committee for Moscow, the charge was brought by the investigative department for the Western District of Moscow of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation "on the fact of statements made at the National Unity Day holiday during an authorized rally on November 4, 2007." A measure of restraint in the form of a written undertaking not to leave was chosen against the accused.

The case was initiated in April 2008 by the prosecutor's office of the Western Administrative District of Moscow.

On November 28, 2008 the case was sent to court.

Recall that a criminal case has already been initiated against Alexander Belov under Art. 282 after the events in Kondopoga.
