Residents of Murmansk sent an appeal to the city administration with a request to ban the construction of a "cult building of the neo-Pentecostal sect" in the city center, Pravoslavie na Severnaya Zemlya reports . More than 3,000 people signed the appeal.

Recall that in mid-November, the diocese has already expressed concern about this construction.

The head of the missionary department of the Murmansk and Monchegorsk diocese, hegumen Mikhail (Kiselev), said that there was no official response from the Murmansk administration.

The city committee for territorial planning and urban planning refused to suspend construction. Officials said that a piece of land for the construction of a religious building was allocated to Pentecostals back in 2004. Hegumen Mikhail said that 4 years ago, citizens appealed to the administration with complaints about "doubtful construction" in their area, but the city leadership ignored these appeals. In this regard, the Murmansk diocese appealed to the prosecutor's office with a demand to check the eligibility of this building without preliminary public hearings.

"For what reasons, responsible persons from the city administration have such warm feelings towards various sectarian neoplasms, allowing them to build prayer houses in the city center, which, if we take into account the building of the so-called "New Apostolic Church", turns into a center of sectarianism," the statement says. official appeal of the townspeople to the mayor M.
