On November 28, 2008, the criminal case against the leader of the Movement against Illegal Immigration (DPNI) Alexander Potkin (Belov) was sent to court.
A. Potkin is accused under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement of national hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity) “in relation to statements made during the National Unity Day holiday during an authorized rally on November 4, 2007.” His case was transferred to the Dorogomilovsky District Court of Moscow for consideration on the merits.
The Investigative Department of the Joint-Stock Company Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee under the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation in Moscow has chosen a preventive measure against the accused in the form of a written undertaking not to leave the place.
Let us recall that the case was opened in April 2008 by the prosecutor's office of the Western Administrative District of Moscow.
