Tolerance Day was held in Moscow

On December 7, 2008, the Day of Tolerance was held in Moscow. The event was organized by the Russian Jewish Congress (RJC).

About 400 representatives of Moscow student organizations "of different nationalities - Azerbaijanis and Armenians, Georgians and Ossetians, Africans and immigrants from Central Asia" gathered at the youth evening. Also at the evening was the awarding of the winners of the RJC award "For the first success in the performing arts". The winners were three students of the Moscow Conservatory.

During the evening, a charity event was held by RJC and the Russian Aid Fund (Kommersant Publishing House) to raise funds to save the life of a girl from Russia who needs treatment in Israel.

The evening ended with a performance by the "Idan Raichel Project" group, which was introduced to the guests by the First Secretary of the Embassy of the State of Israel in Russia, journalist Yossi Tavor.
