On January 5, Vladimir Osipov, head of the Christian Renaissance Union, sent a telegram addressed to the President of the Russian Federation, in which, on behalf of the Orthodox community, he expressed indignation at the showing of the film The Da Vinci Code on Channel One on January 2. "The mocking movie-abomination was demonstrated on one of the strictest days of the Advent, on the eve of the great national holiday of the Nativity of Christ," the document emphasizes.
V. Osipov asks D. Medvedev "to appease the presumptuous instigators of inter-religious and inter-ethnic hatred."
Recall that in 2006, religious organizations en masse opposed the display of The Da Vinci Code.
