In Bashkiria, the Drug Control Committee opposes support for the Narconon program

The Office of the Federal Service of the Russian Federation for Drug Control in the Republic of Bashkortostan (UFSKN) sent to the editorial office of Russian Line an appeal dedicated to the activities of Scientologists in the field of prevention and treatment of drug addiction (Narconon program). The document emphasizes that “the activities of the Narconon-Ufa NP have nothing to do with the prevention and treatment of drug addiction.”

“The Ministry of Education of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the administration of the urban district of Ufa and other government agencies, representatives of public organizations and traditional religious faiths have repeatedly stated the impossibility of cooperation with the Narconon-Ufa NP,” the appeal notes.

The Federal Drug Control Service for the Republic of Bashkortostan states that it considers support or any contacts with the Narconon-Ufa organization unacceptable. In addition, the Office invites the public to provide information about the activities of such organizations to law enforcement agencies.

Let us recall that in 2008 in Moscow a case was brought to court against the former head and chief accountant of the non-profit partnership “Anti-Drug Education and Rehabilitation. Narconon-Standard”.
