The Pskov-Pechersky Monastery is trying to evict a village resident from his house through the court

In December 2008, a trial began on the claim of the Pskov-Pechersk Monastery for the eviction from the house of Valery Belyaev, a resident of the village of Zakhnovo, Pechora District.

V. Belyaev, who does not have Russian citizenship and uses a USSR passport, was invited by the community of the church of the Iberian Icon of the Mother of God in 2002 as a wood carver. The community bought a house, land and a cow for him and his wife. The plot and outbuildings were not registered as property at once, everything was limited to an oral agreement. All this time, Belyaev not only carried out finishing work in the temple, but also participated in various rural works, and also sang on the kliros with his family.

In 2008, the Pskov-Caves Holy Assumption Monastery became the owner of the temple and the buildings erected by the community, which planned to create a skete on this site. In March 2008, V. Belyaev and his wife were asked to leave their house until June 1. However, neither compensation nor other accommodation was offered.

Residents with. Zakhnovo appealed to the Metropolitan of Pskov and Velikoluksky Eusebius (Savvin) with a letter in which they recalled that the Belyaev family had worked off most of the amount paid by the community for the house (120 thousand rubles) in several years. The rest of the villagers are ready to contribute themselves in order to buy the house from the diocese. On May 26, the bishop put a resolution on this letter: "The Iberian skete is intended for spiritual life. The monastic rules do not allow non-monastics, lay people to live in the skete."

"There is no Iversky skete on the map of the Pechora region. There is a village of Zakhnovo. The skete is only being designed, being so far devoid of monks. The fraternal building is empty. In the temple of the parishioners, all the same Valera and Lyudmila (V. Belyaev's wife - "SOVA"). In July, the abbot of the monastery, Archimandrite Tikhon (Secretarev), sent an application to the head of the police department with a request to assist in the eviction of Belyaev, but the police refused, citing the refusal as the application had been submitted to the wrong address. However, a representative of the District Department of Internal Affairs warned the villagers: "The monastery in Pechory is a city-forming enterprise. We will play for them. Don't be offended."

In December, the monastery filed a lawsuit. Belyaev was handed the agenda not by the postman, but by the district police officer. When applying for the postponement of the meeting, the defendant was told in court: "Whom did you go against? You must understand that you are simply dragging out the process, you have no chance: the monastery is a city-forming enterprise ... get ready to move."

The first meeting took place on 30 December. The next meeting was scheduled for February 5, 2009.

Recall that in August 2008, by a court decision, Philip Muskevich, a resident of the island of Valaam, and his family were evicted from the premises of the monastery skete.
