On February 6, 2009, in Veliky Novgorod, a 22-year-old resident of the city, Evgenia Savelyeva, was sentenced, accused under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (inciting hatred or enmity) for posting files of a nationalistic nature on the Internet.
Savelyeva posted on the Internet the texts "Kafiram", "Estonian sniper", "Anti-Semitism of Anti-Genghis Khan", "Russian Muslims against terrorists", "Afghan traitor", etc.
The court found the accused guilty and sentenced her to 160 hours of compulsory labor. The defendant herself admitted her guilt.
