In Kaliningrad, a sentence was passed under Art. 282

On February 2, 2009, the Central District Court of Kaliningrad convicted Vladimir Levchenko under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement of hatred or enmity committed in public).

The court found that on September 18, 2004, at a rally in Kaliningrad near the monument to Lenin on Victory Square, Levchenko made a speech containing nationalistic expressions that humiliated people from the Caucasus, Jews, Chechens and Gypsies.

Levchenko was sentenced to 1 year in prison (conditionally) with a probationary period of one year. After the statute of limitations expired, the court released Levchenko from punishment.

In the case of Levchenko there was also an episode with the distribution of xenophobic materials (a letter "A tender offer to the Jews of the Kaliningrad region" , a leaflet "Yegorov's gang seized power" , the newspaper "Bulletin of Russian Autonomy" ). According to this episode, the prosecutor's office stopped the prosecution of Levchenko on February 2, 2009 " "due to the absence of corpus delicti in the actions of the accused .

On February 26, 2009, it became known that the defendant filed an appeal against the verdict. The hearing of the case is scheduled for March 17.
