The prosecutor of the Republic of Bashkortostan asks to recognize the newspaper’s materials as extremist

On February 6, 2009, it became known that the prosecutor of the Republic of Bashkortostan, S.A. Khurtin, filed an application with a request to recognize No. 1 of the social-analytical newspaper of Bashkortostan "Maidan" (author and publisher - Airat Dilmukhametov) as extremist material.

According to a linguistic study, a number of publications of the newspaper "calls for extremist activity, substantiates and justifies the need for its implementation" .

The application was sent for consideration to the Naberezhnye Chelny City Court, as the newspaper was printed in a printing house located in Naberezhnye Chelny.

Unfortunately, we were unable to find materials for the newspaper's issue, so we cannot judge whether the claims against publications are justified.
