On February 9, 2009, the Investigative Department of the RF Investigative Committee for the Saratov Region reported that on February 5, in a prayer house in the village of Novorepnoye, Ershov District, a book included in the federal list of extremist materials was found among the books exhibited for free acquaintance by parishioners . The decision to include the material in the list was made by the Gorodishchensky District Court of the Penza Region "and its distribution is prohibited on the territory of the Russian Federation, due to the presence in it of information inciting ethnic and religious hatred."
The book was confiscated and handed over to the investigative department for a decision to initiate a criminal case. As the imam of the prayer house explained, the book belongs to him. He brought it from the Penza region, and he does not know that this book is prohibited for distribution.
