The Public Chamber of the Russian Federation asks the Federal Migration Service to allow the chief rabbi of Primorye to stay in Russia

The Commission on Interethnic Relations and Freedom of Conscience of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation appealed to the Federal Migration Service with a request to "contribute to a positive solution to the issue" of the stay of the Chief Rabbi of Primorsky Krai Yisroel Zilberstein in Russia. On February 11, the court of the Pervorechensky district of Vladivostok decided to expel the rabbi from the country in connection with the violation of the order of stay here.

"We believe that representatives of the state authorities could treat the needs of believers in our country with greater understanding, in particular, the performance of rabbinical duties can well be considered as a cultural activity, the implementation of cultural ties," says the letter, signed by the chairman of the commission Nikolai Svanidze .
