The Murmansk research center "Streta", specializing in studying the activities of NRMs, became part of the Russian Association of Centers for the Study of Religions and Sects (RACIRS). With the blessing of Archbishop Simon of Murmansk and Monchegorsk, Anton Tuchkov, head of the diocesan department of religious education and catechesis, became the head of the center.
Now RACIRS will advise regional and municipal authorities, as well as law enforcement officers in the region and talk about the dangers of “totalitarian sects.”
Let us recall that in 2008, Murmansk Protestants appealed to the prosecutor’s office with a demand to initiate a criminal case under Art. 282 of the Criminal Code in relation to A. Tuchkov.
"Anti-sectarian" centers operate in St. Petersburg and Adygea .
