Racist attack in Novosibirsk

On March 11, 2009, a racist attack was carried out in Novosibirsk against a native of Uzbekistan.

The incident occurred in the premises of one of the bars in the Kirovsky district of the city, where the injured man had dinner with his friend. One of the drunken visitors, seeing a man with a non-Slavic appearance, grabbed a table knife, and, putting it to the throat of the victim, began to shout that he would kill him. At the same time, he shouted that he fought and "hates non-Russians."

While the bar workers called the police, the victim was able to grab onto the blade of the knife and break it at the handle, then pushed the attacker away, who fell and broke his nose, so that the brawler himself had to call an ambulance.

The incident became known from a guilty verdict in a criminal case initiated under paragraphs. "a, b", part 1 of Art. 213 (hooliganism with the use of weapons motivated by hatred).
