DPNI members detained in Nizhny Novgorod

On March 22, 2009, in Nizhny Novgorod, members of the Movement Against Illegal Immigration (DPNI) were detained and taken to the Leninsky district police station, who were distributing leaflets calling for the creation of national self-defense groups.

After 4 hours, the detainees were released. Employees of the Center for Combating Extremism and the FSB held a preventive conversation with them.

On March 26, 2009, the leader of the Nizhny Novgorod DPNI, Oleg Ivanov, was convicted by a world court under Art. 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (disobedience to the lawful demands of police officers), he was sentenced to three days in prison.
