On March 25, 2009, the Novosibirsk Regional Court ruled on the liquidation of the newspaper "Pamyat - Novosibirsk" (founders - Valery Budyanov, Valery Gabrusenko).
Back in 2008, the local department of Rossvyazokhrankultura requested the liquidation of the newspaper. The lawsuit was based on two anti-extremist warnings issued to the publication in 2007 (the first was issued on May 25, 2007 for the publications "Agony 282 articles" and "The Grand Duke of All Russia", published in the newspaper "Pamyat-Novosibirsk" No. 3 dated April 24 2006, the second was issued on November 20, 2007 for the article "Minutes of the meeting of the members of the political council of the Novosibirsk regional branch of the Military Power Union of Russia (VDSR)", published in the newspaper "Pamyat-Novosibirsk" No. 2 of March 5, 2007).
The trial was delayed due to the fact that the defendant tried to challenge both warnings, but lost. The court to liquidate the newspaper resumed only on March 16, 2009.
The defendant did not agree with the decision and successfully appealed it to the Supreme Court of Russia.
