The authorities will not establish special state awards with Muslim symbols

The head of the St. Petersburg Islamic organization "Al-Fath" Jamaliddin Makhmutov forwarded an appeal on the establishment of state awards with Muslim symbols to the President. At the end of March, he received a response to this appeal. The proposal to establish a special award for Muslims did not find support from the authorities.

The document says that the St. George Cross is a traditional award of Orthodox Russia. "Muslims have received these military awards throughout the existence of the country," - said in response to the request of Al-Fatah.
