The Moscow City Court issued an acquittal in another case of the Kolinichenko gang

On April 6, 2009, the Moscow City Court acquitted members of the Kolinichenko gang in yet another criminal case of nationalist attacks. The acquittal was handed down on the basis of the jury's verdict.

On April 2, 2009, the jury unanimously found Ivan Kolinichenko, Denis Karpukhin, Ivan Koshcheev, Timofey Kovalev and Kirill Kovalev not guilty under part 3 of article 30 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted crime), under part 2 of article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder ), part 2 of article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (inciting national, racial or religious hatred).

Gang members were accused of attacking citizens of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan in October 2007.

Recall that in the previous case, the investigation managed to prove 12 episodes of the criminal activity of this group. On September 22, 2008, the Moscow City Court already passed a sentence on 13 members of the gang in the first case.

"The preventive measure against the accused after the acquittal was left unchanged in the form of detention, since the Moscow City Court had previously issued a guilty verdict against the same persons," said Anna Usacheva, head of the press service of the Moscow City Court .

The verdict was appealed by the prosecutor's office in the Supreme Court of Russia.
