The Moscow prosecutor's office recognized the legality of the demolition of the building on Novatorov Street

Oleg Kassin, co-chairman of the People's Cathedral movement, director of the Center for People's Defense interregional public organization, received a response from the Moscow prosecutor's office regarding a request for the legality of demolishing a building on Novatorov Street, which the local Orthodox community considers a former Orthodox church. The document says that there were no violations of the law during the demolition of the building and there are no grounds for taking prosecutorial response measures.

The demolition of the building was authorized by the prefecture of the Southwestern Administrative District of Moscow. The response received from the prosecutor's office states that the city's prosecutor's office has checked the complaints about the illegal demolition of the building on Novatorov Street. The document states that no information about the construction and existence of the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord near the village of Belyaevo (today Novatorov Street) was found.

In addition, in 2005, the opinion of the Expert Commission on immovable heritage sites and their territories was received on the inappropriateness of classifying the specified object among the identified objects of cultural heritage due to the lack of an independent historical and cultural value of the building.
