On March 30, a resident of the city of Sebezh, Pskov Region, filed a complaint with the police about the desecration of graves at the Jewish cemetery. Headstones were split on 18 graves, wreaths and crosses were broken and burned (the cemetery was created as a Jewish one, but people of different faiths have been buried there for a long time).
Presumably, the crime was committed after March 9, because. until that day, according to the applicant, the graves were in order.
On April 7, the Department of Internal Affairs of the Sebezhsky District opened a criminal case under Art. 244.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (desecration of the bodies of the dead and their burial places).
Relatives of the buried claim that teenagers are often hooligans at the cemetery. In 2005, vandals desecrated the Polish cemetery in Sebezh.
