The architectural ensemble of the Mirozhsky Monastery, with the exception of the Transfiguration Cathedral, is transferred to the free use of the Russian Orthodox Church

The head of the regional committee for culture, Zinaida Ivanova, said that the Transfiguration Cathedral of the Mirozh Monastery will remain state property, and its custodian should be the Pskov Museum-Reserve.

However, the remaining objects of the monastery (Stefan's Church, the abbot's house, the fraternal building) will be provided for free use to the community of monks of the Mirozhsky Monastery.

“The rest of the monastery should live a monastic life. This is our position, and we hope that it will be correctly understood and accepted by the Pskov public,” concluded Z. Ivanova.

Let us recall that the State Committee of the Pskov Region for Culture spoke out against the transfer of the architectural ensemble of the Mirozhsky Monastery to the free use of the Russian Orthodox Church.
