On April 16, 2009, four masked men attacked two Tajik citizens near house 6 on Ketcherskaya Street in Moscow.
The injured foreigners, born in 1986 and 1989, received multiple stab wounds. The perpetrators fled the scene. Passers-by called an ambulance, but by the time it arrived, one of the victims had already died. The second foreigner was hospitalized. Doctors assess his condition as extremely serious.
According to some media reports, law enforcement agencies assess the attack as most likely nationalistic. A criminal case has been initiated under Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder).
