On April 17, the First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Autonomous Church (ROAC), Metropolitan Valentin (Rusantsov), was detained by police at the entrance to the church to perform the Good Friday service. Several other people were also arrested along with him.
Recall that in February 2009 the Arbitration Court of the Vladimir Region confiscated 13 churches in Suzdal from the ROAC. The hearing of the appeal is scheduled for April 24. In early April, two deacons of this church were detained while trying to take a box of vestments from the Krestonikolsky church.
