Governor of the Perm Territory Oleg Chirkunov, congratulating residents of the region on Easter, mentioned not only Orthodox Christians, but also Christian communities that do not belong to the Russian Orthodox Church and are simply “celebrating the holiday.”
O. Chirkunov’s appeal speaks not only about “the fruitful activity of the Perm diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church,” but also about other denominations.
“In contrast to the style of similar congratulations from regional leaders, who sometimes strive to make the most of the doctrinal provisions of the Orthodox Church, the text of the Perm governor’s congratulations places emphasis on universally significant values,” notes Credo.ru .
Let us recall that in the Perm region there is an Interfaith Advisory Committee , which acted as an opponent of the Bishop of Perm and Solikamsk Irinarch in the discussion on tolerance.
