On May 18, a rally was held in Novoshakhtinsk, Rostov Region, against the activities of Jehovah's Witnesses in the city. It was attended by about 100 people - Cossacks and representatives of public organizations. The action is supported by the Rostov diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church.
The participants of the rally held posters: "Jehovah's Witnesses" - a dangerous totalitarian sect", "Sects cripple souls and take away property", "Sects - get out of the city!"
During the action, Anton Skrynnikov, head of the Stavropol information and advisory center for totalitarian sects, called for a ban on the activities of Jehovah's Witnesses in the Rostov Region, as had already been done in Moscow.
