Students killed in Stavropol

At the end of May 2009, two students were killed in Stavropol as a result of stab wounds. According to one version, the attacks could have been motivated by ethnic hatred.

On May 18, Yanis Kasiteridi, born in 1987, a resident of Pyatigorsk, a student of residency at the Stavropol State Medical Academy, died of stab wounds to the chest and stomach. The attack took place on the street. The wounded Kasiteridi managed to get to the house, where he died from the blows received. An investigation is underway.

On May 19, Umalat Magomedov, born in Dagestan, was seriously wounded in the abdominal cavity and back region, born in 1990, a second-year student at a medical college. He was attacked in the dormitory area of ​​the medical college on the street. Lenin four young people passing by. One of the attackers hit the native of Dagestan several times with a knife. The victim went to the city clinical hospital. Magomedov died from his wounds. A criminal case was initiated under Part 1 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder).

Operational-search activities are being carried out, checks are being made on the leaders and members of informal organizations of an "extremist wing".
