Deputy head of the DUM of Dagestan killed in Makhachkala

On the evening of May 25, Akhmed Tagaev, deputy head of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Dagestan, was killed in Makhachkala. A. Tagaev was responsible for public relations and media relations in the Spiritual Administration of Muslims, was considered one of the main ideologists of opposition to religious extremism in the Islamic environment.

Approximately at 22:35 local time, an unknown gunman shot him with a pistol and fled. A. Tagaev died on the spot.

A criminal case was initiated under Part 1 of Article 105 and Part 1 of Art. 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder and illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation or carrying of weapons, their main parts, ammunition, explosives and explosive devices).

As the reason for the murder of A. Tagaev, his professional activity is considered.
