Muslims of the Odintsovo district cannot obtain the allocation of a plot for a cemetery

The Muslim community of the city of Odintsovo, Moscow Region, has been seeking the allocation of a land plot for the organization of a cemetery for 10 years. In October 2008, the district authorities promised to allocate land, but no decision was made. Ravil Gainutdin, chairman of the Council of Muftis of Russia, also addressed the head of administration, but the situation has not changed.

"The administration of the Odintsovo district all the time refuses and says that there is no land. Recently, 8 hectares of land were given to Christians for a cemetery. Meanwhile, Muslims are asking for only 0.5 hectares," Imam Bairam Klychev said.
