A meeting was held in Murmansk to “counter the spread of totalitarian sects in the region”

In June, a meeting was held in Murmansk dedicated to "counteracting the spread of totalitarian sects and destructive cults in the region." The meeting was held by the Missionary Department of the Murmansk and Monchegorsk diocese.

Director of the Orthodox Research and Information Center "Streta" Anton Tuchkov presented a report "The Religious Situation in the Murmansk Region". In his report, A. Tuchkov spoke about "the activation of sects of various orientations in the territory of the Murmansk region." In addition, in this document, he cites "the facts of penetration of sectarians into the state authorities of Murmansk and the region, educational institutions of the region."

A. Tuchkov finished his report with the words: "We are not fighting against sects, we are fighting for the souls of those who have become or may become their victims."
