On June 30, police officers in St. Petersburg detained the chairman of the Supreme Council of the Brotherhood in the name of the Hieromartyr Metropolitan Vladimir of Kiev and Galitsky Oleg Filatchev and one of his associates. They were detained for putting up leaflets on which John of Kronstadt was depicted, and at the top are his words: "Russian people, you forgot that you are Russian!"
The police officers, without introducing themselves, demanded to see the documents and contents of the package, then read out an excerpt from the legislation of St. Petersburg on administrative offenses, which boils down to the fact that the pasted leaflets "violated the appearance of the city."
A report on an administrative offense was drawn up against Oleg Filatchev. Copies of the minutes were not given to him. In a commentary on the wording in the protocol, Oleg Filatchev wrote that he "does not consider it possible that leaflets with the face of the famous Russian saint, which do not contain any illegal appeals, can spoil the image of the city. Otherwise, the question arises - who are the judges?"
