The sentence on the Iskitim arsonists came into force

In July 2009, it became known about the results of the consideration of the cassation complaint of a gang that had committed a series of crimes in the Novosibirsk region, in particular, a series of attacks on gypsy houses in Iskitim in 2004-2005. Then, as a result of the attacks , an 8-year-old girl died , hundreds of people were left homeless, and the Tomsk human rights activist Boris Kreindel , who was contacted by the victims because the Novosibirsk police refused to accept their application, had to leave the city because of the death threats from the bandits.

The meeting of the Supreme Court of Russia, which considered the complaint of the convicts, took place on April 29, 2009. The Supreme Court fully agreed with the verdict of the Novosibirsk Regional Court, which found all members of the gang guilty and sentenced them to 9 to 14.5 years in prison in a strict regime colony.

On July 13, one ruling of the Supreme Court was received by the convicts.
