The authors of the Ufa Gubernskaya website were arrested

On August 4, 2009, Nikolai Shvetsov, Sergei Orlov, Konstantin Nesterov and Igor Kuchumov were detained in Ufa by the Investigative Committee of the ICR RF for the Republic of Bashkortostan. They were charged under a number of "extremist" articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

It should be recalled that in May 2008, a under part 2 was initiated criminal case of article 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public calls for carrying out extremist activities committed with the use of mass media) and Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (inciting hatred or enmity). The site itself was declared extremist in March 2009.

All detainees were charged under Part 2 of Art. 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (calls for extremism using the media), paragraph "c" part 2 of Art. 282 (inciting hatred by an organized group) and Part 2 of Art. 282.1 (participation in an extremist community). In addition, Nikolai Shvetsov was also charged under Part 3 of Art. 282.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (participation in an extremist community using one's official position) and part 3 of Art. 212 (calls for riots).

On August 6, it became known that Ildar Gabdrafikov, a senior researcher at the Center for Ethnological Research of the USC RAS, became another defendant in this case.

All the accused were given a measure of restraint in the form of detention.

As a reminder, we do not consider it legitimate to recognize Dilmukhametov's pamphlet "The War Against Bastards" as extremist material. In addition, this brochure expressed the position of the Bashkir nationalists, and the Ufa Gubernskaya website is their opponent.

But, according to Ruslan Shvetsov, the son of N. Shvetsov, the accusation is not built around this pamphlet and not even around the articles of those arrested, since the experts involved did not find signs of extremism in them, but around the comments to these articles left by readers on the site.

In addition, in June 2009, charges were brought under Art. 282 (inciting hatred) to one of the site's readers who left offensive and nationalist comments.
