On August 5, 2009, the Moscow City Prosecutor's Office announced the results of prosecutor's inspections of the implementation of anti-extremist legislation for the first half of 2009.
During inspections of state authorities, local governments, educational institutions, libraries, printing houses and places of sale of printed materials, Moscow prosecutors revealed 23 violations of the law in the field of interethnic relations, and 173 violations in the field of countering extremism.
During the first half of 2009, prosecutors submitted 75 motions to eliminate violations of the law on countering extremism, and issued 263 warnings about the inadmissibility of violating the law on countering extremism. 2 cases of an administrative offense were initiated under Part 1 of Art. 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (propaganda and public display of Nazi paraphernalia or symbols). 14 lawsuits were filed with the courts to recognize information materials as extremist.
Representations were made to the heads of the administrations of the Preobrazhenskoye and Metrogorodok districts, as the audit revealed that preventive, educational, propaganda measures aimed at preventing extremist activity had not been taken here.
The inter-district prosecutor of Khoroshevsky issued a warning to the director of the State Educational Institution Secondary School No. 702, as it was revealed that there was no filtering software designed to protect students from negative information.
The Preobrazhensky inter-district prosecutor issued a warning to the owner of the trade pavilion No. 27 "Strawberry", located on Krasnobogatyrskaya Street, on the fact of illegal demonstration of uniforms and ammunition for the troops of Nazi Germany.
The Lublin inter-district prosecutor issued a warning to the director of the State Educational Institution "Education Center No. 491".
During the inspection, it was revealed that Hitler's book is used in the premises of the military-patriotic museum.
