"Yakutsk Vecherniy" managed to cancel the warning from Rossvyaznadzor

On June 23, 2009, the Arbitration Court of the Republic of Sakha considered the claim of the founder of the Yakutsk Vecherniy newspaper, Vesti LLC, against the Roskomnadzor Administration for the Republic of Sakha regarding the cancellation of the warning against extremist activity issued to the founder on February 11, 2009 for publishing the text of an interview with the poet Sofron Osipov "Why I was known as a brawler."

It should be noted that the court did not consider the essence of the content of the interview (in the opinion of many, incorrect, in particular, in relation to ethnic Russians living in Yakutia). Despite initial statements that the warning would be challenged as a measure disproportionate to the misconduct, in the end, Vesti LLC challenged the warning on formal grounds: according to the charter, the founder has no right to interfere in the creative work of the editorial board. The interview, according to the founder, is a process of creative work of the editorial board and, accordingly, a warning should have been issued to her.

The court agreed with the arguments of Vesti LLC and declared the warning of Roskomnadzor invalid.
