The sentence to Alexander Belov is upheld

On August 19, 2009, the Judicial Collegium of the Moscow City Court approved the verdict handed down in May 2009 to the former leader of the Movement Against Illegal Immigration (DPNI) Alexander Belov (Potkin). Thus, the court rejected both the appeal of the defense of the convict, which asked him to be acquitted, and the presentation of the prosecutor's office, which considered the sentence too light.

Recall that the Dorogomilovsky Court of Moscow found A. Belov guilty under Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement of ethnic hatred) and sentenced him to one and a half years of suspended imprisonment. The criminal case was initiated in November 2008 because of the statements of the leader of the DPNI at the "Russian March" in 2007.
