Department of Internal Affairs for the Murmansk region on countering extremism since the beginning of the year

On August 20, 2009, a representative of the Center for Combating Extremism of the Internal Affairs Directorate for the Murmansk Region spoke about the results of the Center's work since the beginning of the year.

According to him, since the beginning of 2009 , "18 illegal extremist actions have been suppressed in the region. 32 people have been brought to administrative responsibility, 57 leaders and active members of radical groups and associations have been identified, one extremist crime has been solved, and 1 participant has been prosecuted radical groups and associations, 2 channels for the supply of materials of an extremist orientation were identified . During the first half of 2009, two neo-Nazi youth organizations associated with football fans were identified.

On January 31, 2009, a provocation against the participants of the rally of the regional branch of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation by one of the groups of Nazi skinheads was prevented. Unfortunately, the details of this incident are not reported.

In March 2009, 11 copies of V.A. Istarkhov "Blow of the Russian Gods" . The owner of the store was fined two thousand rubles. This decision is illegal, since the decision to recognize the "Strike of the Russian Gods" as extremist has been canceled .
