Neo-Nazi policeman to appear in court again

In early September 2009, it became known that in the Boksitogorsk district (Leningrad region) the trial of the former district police officer of the Pikalevsky police department of the city department of internal affairs Alexander Smirnov, accused of inciting ethnic hatred on the Internet, began.

The prosecution believes that Smirnov made anti-Semitic and anti-Caucasian statements in his entries in his Internet diary. Defender Andrei Fedorov noted that the authorship of the texts posted in the diary could not be established.

On April 12, 2010 the proceedings were terminated .

Recall that in August 2008 the Boksitogorsk city court sentenced A. Smirnov under Part 1 of Art. 282 (inciting national hatred) and under part 1 of Art. 222 (illegal possession of ammunition) to 2.5 years in prison without any additional sanctions.
