The Ministry of Defense transfers the property of the St. John the Theologian Monastery in Arkhangelsk to the ownership of the Russian Orthodox Church

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has decided to transfer the property of the St. John the Theologian Monastery, located in Arkhangelsk, to the ownership of the Moscow Patriarchate. The church has already applied for the transfer of ownership of this farmstead, but was refused, because the buildings were occupied by the services of the apartment and operational part, the military court and the military prosecutor's office, and the ministry was not able to provide the military with other buildings.

"At present, when the structure and number of military units are being optimized, such an opportunity has appeared," Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov said.
