The Moscow City Court did not satisfy the appeal of the editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Duel"

On September 16, 2009, the Moscow City Court did not satisfy the cassation appeal of the former editor-in-chief of the Duel newspaper, Yuri Mukhin, who was sentenced to a suspended sentence in June 2009. The verdict of the Savelovsky District Court of Moscow entered into force.

Mukhin was found guilty under part 2 of article 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public calls for extremist activities through the media) and sentenced to two years in prison (conditionally).

Let us recall that on May 19, 2009, the Moscow City Court approved the decision of the Zamoskvoretsky Court of Moscow to terminate the activities of the Duel newspaper.
