On September 30, 2009, a regular meeting was held in Novorossiysk on the suit of the city prosecutor's office to liquidate the Novorossiysk Human Rights Committee. The prosecutor of the city, Alexander Kazimirov, filed a motion to dismiss his application without consideration.
According to him, the claim for the liquidation of the NHRC was signed by an unauthorized person, this application should have been submitted by the regional prosecutor's office.
The court granted the petition, which in fact means that the organization is not temporarily threatened with closure.
However, according to Stanislav Gorlov, lawyer of the YURIKS organization, who, with the support of the Public Verdict Foundation, represents the interests of the deputy director of the NKHR, Tamara Karasteleva, nothing prevents "the regional prosecutor's office from correcting this claim and filing the same application ," and the city prosecutor's office from "engaging in attracting to criminal liability of individual citizens - employees of the NKHR" .
THE PROSECUTOR OF NOVOROSSIYSK ASKED THE COURT TO LEAVE THE OWN STATEMENT ON THE LIQUIDATION OF THE HUMAN RIGHTS ORGANIZATION WITHOUT CONSIDERATION // Report of the Public Verdict Foundation. 2009. September 30.
