Right-wing radical convicted in Moscow

At the end of the summer of 2009, Roman Zheleznov (Zukhel), born in 1987, a student of the State University Higher School of Economics, leader of a group positioning itself as an Anti-antifa movement in Moscow, was convicted. for the January 2009 attack on Matvey Tal. For the fact that Zheleznov shot Tal with a traumatic pistol, he was convicted under Art. 112 (deliberate infliction of medium harm to health) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and 213 (hooliganism) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and sentenced to four years in prison. It is not known whether the attack on M. Tal was committed for the motive of hatred, and it is also unknown whether this motive was in the verdict.

Zheleznov was arrested in early April 2009.

He confessed to his deed, cooperated with the investigation, asked for forgiveness from the victim and fully recognized the prosecutor's claim of 120 thousand rubles. Lawyers asked to choose a punishment not related to deprivation of liberty.

Earlier, right-wing radicals reported that Zheleznov was suspected, together with M. Bazylev, of committing racist murders. Later, information about Zukhel's involvement in the Bazylev case was refuted.
