The Buryat diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church was established
On October 10, a meeting of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church took place in St. Petersburg. At this meeting, it was decided to establish the Buryat diocese.
The Buryat diocese will be separated from the Chita diocese and will be headed by Bishop Savvaty (Antonov).
