Previously suspended construction on the territory of the Zaikonospassky Monastery is planned to be resumed

At the end of October, representatives of Uniastrum-Bank visited the Zaikonospasky Monastery in Moscow and announced their intention to start emergency restoration work on its territory, and after that - to complete the construction of a shopping and entertainment complex. "Uniastrum-bank" is a creditor of Stargrad LLC, which started the construction of this complex and suspended it at the request of the court as illegal.

Bank employees said that in the coming days they would place change houses on the territory of the monastery and settle workers there.

The headman of the monastery, Gennady Samoilov , told Interfax that representatives of the monastery were not invited to discuss the current situation in any of the departments in charge of construction.

The Zaikonospassky Monastery sent Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov, Prefect of the Central Federal District Alexei Alexandrov and Uniastrum Bank management letters reminding them that any construction on the territory of a monument of federal significance is prohibited by current legislation.
