On November 4, on National Unity Day, representatives of the "Union of the Russian People", "People's Cathedral", the cultural and historical society "Borodino-2012", the Orthodox Brotherhood of St. New Hieromartyr Metropolitan Vladimir and parishioners of churches in several Orthodox jurisdictions (several dozen people) held a procession dedicated to the feast of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. The procession was not authorized by the city authorities, but the police, unlike in 2008 , failed to block it.
The participants of the action divided into small groups and thus reached the church of St. Nicholas on Bersenevskaya embankment, where they performed a prayer service in a lay order before the list of the Kazan icon.
