Searches of Vladimir Basmanov and Alexander Belov

On November 12, 2009, a search was conducted in the apartment of DPNI-Moscow coordinator Vladimir Basmanov.

During the search, T-shirts with the inscription “Law and Order”, stickers distributed at the “Russian March” , as well as some books and music recordings were confiscated from Basmanov.

On the same day, after a search in the construction company of former DPNI leader Alexander Belov, he was summoned for questioning.

The searches and interrogation were carried out as part of a criminal case involving the beating of two natives of Tajikistan by a group of neo-Nazis in Protvino near Moscow in June 2009. According to Belov, the investigation has information that the teenagers detained in the case stated that they went to Basmanov’s apartment to report “on the fight against illegal immigrants." Information about searches in the case has not yet been officially confirmed.

Let us remind you that already in June 2009, 8 suspects were detained in this criminal case. Two of those detained were arrested; both young men said they were part of an “extremist movement against illegal immigration.”
