Perm Mufti considers the construction of an Orthodox church as discrimination against Muslims

The mufti of the organization of the Perm Territory, Khamit Galyautdinov, accuses local officials of patronizing the Orthodox and discriminating against Muslims. The reason was the decision to build an Orthodox church in a park in the Krokhalev microdistrict, on the site of a chapel in honor of the icon of the Mother of God "Satisfy my sorrows." The construction of the temple is expected to coincide with the second anniversary of the fall of the Boeing 737.

The Mufti recalled that among those killed in the plane crash were both Muslims and representatives of other faiths. Perm Muslims approached the authorities with a proposal to build a mosque on the site of the death of people, but were refused. The mufti was indignant that when it comes to the construction of a mosque, the authorities do not give consent, "and when it comes to an Orthodox church, they themselves go to the site of the proposed construction."

"I'm not against the construction of an Orthodox church. The more churches, the fewer prisons," explained Kh. Galyautdinov. Perm with this request."

According to the mufti, the place for the construction of the Orthodox church was chosen poorly: in this square there are a children's and basketball court, and the construction of the temple may deprive the townspeople of a place to walk with children and play. However, according to the assurances of the mayor of Perm, Igor Shubin, both sites will be preserved, and the area around the temple will be available to everyone.

I. Shubin promised to build several more Orthodox churches and chapels in the city. "Mosques, synagogues or, say, Buddhist temples are out of the question," notes the site Kvartira59 .

Recall that Perm Muslims are unable to obtain permission to build a center of Islamic culture.
