The Rashida Mosque in the village of Medyan, Krasnooktyabrsky District, Nizhny Novgorod Region, was put up for auction. Legal entities and individuals are allowed to participate.
According to the Word of Islam portal, "a prerequisite for the tender is the buyer's obligation to comply with the restrictions on the right to use the cultural heritage object established by the legislation of the Russian Federation, the requirements for its preservation and use, providing access to the object, preserving its appearance and interior."
The initial price of the building is 602,380,000 rubles. The auction is scheduled for December 4, 2009.
Recall that in September the building of a Muslim prayer house in the Chelyabinsk region was put up for sale .
On November 25, DUMNO issued a statement in connection with the current situation. The document states that the main reasons for the current situation are the imperfection of domestic legislation regarding temple property and the lack of a clear centralized system in the Muslim Ummah of Russia.
"In any case, DUMNO will draw conclusions from this incident (in the near future we intend to transfer all the property of all local religious communities to the ownership of the Spiritual Administration, following the model of Christian communities), in order to prevent such a development of circumstances in the future. All responsibility for the development of mosques, madrasahs and other buildings that are now on the balance of local communities will be borne by the Spiritual Administration of Muslims," the document says.
Nizhny Novgorod Muslims intend to ask the authorities to assist in resolving this situation.
January 25, it became known that the auction will take place on January 21, 2010. Applications wishing to participate in the competition are accepted until January 18. The initial price of the lot is 542.142 million rubles.
