On November 30, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev published a decree on the creation of a working group on the restoration of religious cultural heritage sites. Alexander Beglov, deputy head of the presidential administration, has been appointed head of this group.
The presidium included Minister of Culture Alexander Avdeev, head of the Ministry of Regional Development Viktor Basargin, head of Rosokhrankultura Alexander Kibovsky, presidential aide Oleg Markov and presidential envoy to the Central Federal District Georgy Poltavchenko.
The purpose of the creation of the group is to support the development of spiritual culture and the preservation of cultural heritage sites for religious purposes. The main task is to prepare and submit proposals to the President and the Government of the Russian Federation on the legal, financial and methodological support for the tasks of restoring monuments.
